To Delete or Nahh?

I was going to delete this page…I lost my steam. Lost my interest. And then the auto renew charge hit and I was like whew…I should have closed this account already, but here we are… I’ve distanced myself from a lot of the people that make me feel like I need to write to release…

I was going to delete this page…I lost my steam. Lost my interest. And then the auto renew charge hit and I was like whew…I should have closed this account already, but here we are…

I’ve distanced myself from a lot of the people that make me feel like I need to write to release the negative energy. But somehow in my core, I still feel like I need to write. So onward we go and maybe this year I’ll put more down than last. And maybe I’ll finally commit to writing a book of some kind. I think I have some trauma about writing. It was always so structured and organized and my brain just doesn’t usually work that way. It is random and chaos and steam runs out and then randomly hits me for hours at a time.

I’ve been down with an injury and one thing it has taught me is I’m more alone than I thought. I thought more people would offer to help or connect. I’m not sure if I give off the aura that I want to be left alone or if I’m just not well liked. It is weird because I literally build communities and relationships in my day job but feel like I’m the odd one out. I guess that is why I felt I needed to keep this blog. Because maybe it won’t feel so alone after a while after I put my energy and spirit out there. I know I’m not alone in feeling this way.

Since I’ve been down with this injury, I’ve taken a major interest in finances. I’ve been tracking my net worth and making sure its growing. Figuring out my retirement plan even though its years off. Making sure it makes sense to keep contributing to 401K or start switching to other investments as well. Its a weird place to be in. Before my injury, I was month to month on a credit card. I get paid once a month for my salary so I just always paid off as much of my card off as I could and moved onto the next month racking it right back up. Sometimes it just didn’t exist. And who knew what I was doing retirement wise other than 10-15% contributions from my paycheck…which hey whether I knew what I was doing or not…it was actually a great start.

But something has changed and I no longer spend money like I used to. I don’t buy random things off Amazon or at stores. Everything purely looks like junk. So weird to be in this place of wow why do I have so much stuff. I’ve always been faintly interested in minimalism just because growing up my family was very much the opposite. I have never completely adopted minimalism as I have hobbies that have hobbies. I also like to dive head first into hobbies and buy all the things for hobbies…like sewing..baking..photography..its a mess. A somewhat organized chaotic mess.

Anyways back from that rabbit trail…finances. Are like opposite of what they were. There is actual money at the end of the month even though the world is literally going up in flames around me.

Like emergency fund…done…
Roth maxed out…done…
401K match..done…

And now I’m like now what… I don’t need life insurance, as I already have it.. I have no debt except the mortgage which I could focus on paying off, but I thought about building another business…what I’m not sure, but preparing for opportunity sounds smart. I randomly stockpiled money before the inspiration to open my current business hit. I might be crazy to keep a full-time job and run 1 business and start another… But who knows.

Anyways I think I’ll just start writing whatever hits my brain whenever I’m at in life, whether it was what shaped me or is currently shaping me.
